OXFORD LECTURE THEATRE

A competition design proposal for a new lecture theatre at an existing Oxford College. The building is organised along a formal colonnade that links the main entrance and the theatre. Supplementary accommodation, including a gym, dance space and seminar rooms are arranged along the flank of the colonnade.

Set within a greenfield site overlooking playing fields, the building is orientated towards the long views with a central, elevated open cloister positioned to provide both amenity to the lecture theatre and seminar rooms as well as a place for spectators to watch the adjacent sporting activities.
