Kirkwood McLean have been appointed to develop proposals for a contemporary extension to a suburban family home in Wendover, Buckinghamshire. The site is North facing which presents a challenge in terms of achieving adequate levels of daylighting, especially to the rear of the plan.

The solution being developed currently is to bring the occupiable family spaces forward, closer to the windows while also providing lanterns which will bring in east and west light on the mornings and afternoons.
